THE STUDY OF SCIENCE
Introduction: Science means systematized knowledge. This knowledge helps to discover the hidden truths of Nature by observation and experiment. The aim of science is to ascertain truth.
There are three kinds of science—Moral, mental, physical or natural. Generally by ‘science’ we mean the Natural Science.
Its usefulness: The study of science has benefitted human society in various ways. Within the last five decades, science has changed the face of the world. The blessings of science are felt in every walk of life. The standard of comfort has gone up, and life is made sweet and pleasant, man has now become the master of air, earth and water. He has attained the power of mastery over various diseases that used to cause death and sufferings to human race. The world has been transforme3d as if, to a tiny village by the various gifts of science in the field of transport and communication.
The study of science teaches us to observe things reasonably. It increased the power of reasoning and with the help of reasoning we can avoid many difficult.
Its disadvantages: But the study of science has also its disadvantages also. It has strengthened the hands of evil brains. They are using the knowledge of science to the destruction of human society. The H-Bomb. N-Bomb, rockets and the deadly weapons are example here. It is also turning towards turning a man almost to be a machine. The time has come for the mankind to check this tendency.
Conclusion: The study of science cannot be blamed on this count. The study of science can do no harm to human society. It is the man who corrupts it out of evil motive.
